There is Biblical reference made to Michael, in the book of Daniel, where he is mentioned three times (Chapters 10 & 12) by another heavenly Spirit – Gabriel the Archangel.
When certain of the Angelic beings fell away from their allegiance to God, it was Michael who sounded the war cry: Quis ut Deus? “Who is like God?”
